About the Event
This Austin-based quartet draws on their Latin American heritage (Cuba and Chile) for their original music rooted in rhythmic interplay and sophisticated harmonic textures. The band consists of Chilean Alexa Torres on violin, Cuban Mario Wellmann on guitar, bassist Guillermo Lopez (who has performed with Helen Sung, Ted Nash and Kurt Elling, among others), and drummer Daniel Dufour( who has performed with Randy Brecker, Delfeayo Marsalis and Seamus Black, among others).
