Donvonte McCoy is one of today's finest jazz trumpeters in the DC-Baltimore region. He has performed with such artists such Lionel Hampton, Jason Moran, Aretha Franklin, El Debarge, Fantasia, Eric Wyatt, Curtis Fuller, Larry Ridley and many more. The Donvonte McCoy Quintet has been named "Best Small Jazz Ensemble" by Washington D.C. City Paper two years in a row. In 2016 the Washington D.C. City Paper named him best trumpeter, while his debut CD "Third Floor" was ranked by Washington D.C. City Paper as one of the best of the year. Before the pandemic, Donvonte led one of Washington D.C.'s longest running engagements, performing each weekend at the now shuttered Eighteenth Street Lounge, once one of the city most popular clubs.
