Greg Holloway started playing drums at age 9, began playing in his father’s cabaret band, and was regularly performing for pay by the time he was teenager. He graduated from Howard University with a degree in Music Education and Percussion Performance. His graduate degree from the University of LaVerne in Southern California is in Education with an emphasis on Jazz Drumming and Percussion Methodology. After a career in the prestigious US Air Force bands, including musical director and leader of jazz ensembles, Greg returned to civilian life in Washington DC playing in a wide range of jazz ensembles and performing with Hank Jones, Aretha Franklin, Freda Payne, Jimmy Heath, and Martha Reeves, among others. He is also an educator at the high school and college levels and is the author of drumming and percussion technique guides and books
