About the Event
Tenor saxophonist Lionel Lyles was born in Boulder Colorado and was influenced at an early age by Charlie Parker. He has studies with Branford Marsalis, among others, and perfromed at the Newport Jazz Festival in Branford's big band. He has led the Lionel Lyles Quintet for over 13 years and can be found sitting in at the Tuesday night jazz jams at Takoma Station from time to time.
