Todd Marcus Quartet

Todd Marcus is an Egyptian-American jazz musician who uses his Egyptian heritage to inform his jazz compositions. His music is also heavily influenced by the social work he does in his home base of Baltimore. A master of the bass clarinet, a fairly unusual insturment in jazz, Todd also plays clarinet and saxophone. He plays in, and composes for, a variety of ensembles. In this performance at Takoma Station, he will be performing in the stripped down group reflected in his latest album "Todd Marcus Trio+" that puts the spotlight on his magnificent bass clarinet playing.
